The Duckies Are Coming!

Saturday, June 8th, from 3pm to 5pm on Nashawtuc Road at the bridge over the Sudbury River. Admission is free and open to the public.

Parking options are limited. We suggest walking or biking to the block party if you live in town. Drivers can park on Musketaquid and surrounding neighborhood streets. Parking will be tight on Main Street because of the Jazz Festival, so parking in the neighborhood behind the party is advisable.

Milldam Nursery School is excited to announce that the yellow rubber duckies have arrived in town and are busy training for the 14th annual Ducky Race and Fair. 2019 is a special year for the Milldam community as we celebrate our 50th anniversary. In honor of our momentous birthday, the rubber duckies will once again compete in a race on the Sudbury River.

Presented by McWalter-Volunteer Insurance Agency, the 2019 Ducky Race and Fair will feature a kid-friendly DJ, a juggler, a petting zoo of baby animals, pony rides, balloon twisting, glitter tattoos, a photo booth, old-fashioned carnival games, concessions provided by Fern’s Country Store of Carlisle, and Dylan and Pete’s Ice Cream Truck. Special activities will be provided by our friends at the Concord Free Public Library, the Concord Museum, the Umbrella Arts Center, as well as local vendors. Alumni are invited to come and reminisce with former classmates!

The highlight of the afternoon will be the famous Rubber Ducky Race, which will commence at 4:30pm. A $1,000 cash grand prize has been made possible thanks to the Butler Wheeler Real Estate team. Additionally, fantastic prizes donated by many generous community businesses will be awarded to other ducky finishers. Raffle tickets will be on sale at the event or may be purchased in town for $10 at Fritz and Gigi’s, Juju, Concord Outfitters, and Firefly. Come to the river at Nashawtuc Road on Saturday, June 8th, from 3pm to 5pm to find out whether YOU will have the lucky duck! You need not be present to win.
